14 December 1955, San Sebastian. Andrés Müller-Thyssen graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1981 from the University of the Basque Country. He specialised in ophthalmology in 1988 at the University of Bordeaux (France).
His professional career began in 1988 in San Sebastian, at the Donostia University Hospital, where he worked as a an ophthalmologist specialising in retina. Since 2004 he has worked as a volunteer with Eyes of the world, participating in all its projects, being medical supervisor of the Mozambique programme between 2006-2008 and since 2008, supervisor of the Mali programme.
