Zamora 1957. Ana Pastor has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca and is a specialist in Family and Community Medicine. She is a career civil servant in the Senior Corps of Public Health and Health Administration. She holds an executive MBA in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Administration.  

She has also held other positions in the Administration, including director general of MUFACE (1996), undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture (1999), undersecretary of the Ministry of the Presidency (2000) and undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior (2001).  

Throughout her political career she has been elected to the Spanish Parliament in eight legislatures. She has been president of the Congress of Deputies from 2016 to 2019 and second vice-president from 2008-2011 and 2019-2023. She has also been president of the Joint Committee on National Security of the Congress of Deputies.  

She was minister of Health and Consumer Affairs from 2002 to 2004 and minister of Development from 2011 to 2016. 

She has also been an associate professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid, in the subject of Comparative Public Management Systems.  

She is currently the executive president of A.M.A. Agrupación Mutual Aseguradora.
