Navarra 1978. Elena Arrondo graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Navarra in 1996. She trained as a specialist in ophthalmology at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona between 1997 and 2001. 

She developed her speciality at the Hospital Mútua de Terrassa in Barcelona, focusing her activity on the medical-surgical treatment of patients with glaucoma or cataracts.

She has participated in several multicentre clinical trials related to glaucoma treatment. She also collaborated as a lecturer in Ocular Pathology at the School of Optics of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2001-2003). 

She has published several articles in relation to her main areas of interest: medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, glaucoma in myopic patients and secondary glaucoma. 

She currently works as a glaucoma specialist at the Institute of Ocular Microsurgery (IMO Miranza Group) and is a lecturer on the Master’s Degree in Glaucoma and Anterior Segment at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
